To All My Friends in the Blogosphere
Best Wishes for a Happy New Year 2006!
And remember...they're adding an extra second for FREE!
What will you do with it?
One of the fabulous things about reading, and apparently writing, blogs is the sense of community people feel online. As people are experiencing less of a community life as they work more, groups of friends diminish and opportunities for social contact diminish. People create commnities online and create a sense of self, of who they are and who they link to. It's between friends.
Some of the relationships I've formed through blogging have been the strongest because you're communicating through pictures and the written word, and that's more powerful than sitting down together and getting drunk.
The above was a bit from a great article on blogging in the Nov 2005 issue of Australian Vogue.
If you're the resolution type send yours in confidence to and I'll send them back to you in 365!

Karma, n. (Buddh.). Sum of a person's actions in one of his successive states of existence, viewed as deciding his fate in the next; destiny. (Oxford Dictionary)

A beautifully wrapped gift is surrounded by four pentacles. This symbology has a two-fold meaning. Initially it can be seen to represent an unexpected gift coming to you, which will bring you joy or satisfy a long cherished desire. This gift can range from something actually in the physical form or can be of an intangible nature touching the emotional and psychological. The second interpretation is the complete antithesis of the first, an unexpected expense or difficulty, one which you are not happy about as it will cause you some level of discomfort to meet. The unplanned difficulty will be such that it will inhibit or delay some other plan that you many have had, and possibly cause emotional or psychological upset.

Either way, the Four of Pentacles represents a Karmic exchange, whether it is coming in or going out. When the unexpected gift arrives you can be sure that you are being repaid for something you have given in the past, whether in this lifetime or another.

Nothing in life is free and there are no free rides. When these unexpected advantages or disadvantages happen in your life there will always be some kind of exchange taking place to attune and maintain balance in the development of the soul.

Cath Kidston is one of England's leading designers. Her use of florals, classic, and vintage designs has earned her recognition around the world. In addition to her signature look she also adds a touch of whimsy to many of her designs. Cath made the wrapping paper (top right picture) by printing out scans of some favorite fabric designs on the computer. You could also do this by copying fabric or artwork on a color copy machine. I think this is a great idea for holiday or any occasion gift wrap. Posted by Picasa

And if the past is any indication, charm bracelets will be in style for quite sometime. Posted by Picasa

Subversive Jewelry plays with the idea of the baroque philosophy that more is more, and the modern idea of deconstruction in fashion. I designed each piece of jewelry with a concept behind it, so it is both aesthetic and thoughtful. Justin Giunta

These designs are a step above thrift store fabulous, tangles of beads, charms, and antique style findings all grouped together in heavy pieces that deserve a second look if only to figure out how they were actually put together!
